The Force religion, as depicted in the Star Wars series, asserts an unseen yet omnipresent force pervades, envelopes, and conjoins all things living and inanimate, binding all into a unified whole. The very warp and weft of the Cosmic Area Rug. The Force religion is consistent with quantum entanglement but entails much more; it is a religion with high priests called Jedis and corresponding warlocks and an evil priest exemplified by Lord Vader and Emperor, and all of the evil minions of the Empire.
The Force itself is equivalent to the Holy Spirit (Christianity), Shakti (Hinduism), the Great Spirit (Native American faiths), the Divine Force (neo-Vedanta), the Aten (Early Egyptian Monotheism), and many others.
How does the Star Wars Force religion articulate with Dr. Godwin's pioneering work in progress? Plenty. The Good Dr. is taking great pains to dismantle what's left of straight secular materialism using various proofs.
George Lucas and his production company demonstrated the general population was primed and ready to accept that there was a more to the cosmos than matter, energy, and time-space. There was a Higher Power. Lucas never went so far as to say the Force was an emanation of God, but this the unspoken assumption of the matter. Therefore, the Star Wars series went straight for the materialist jugular, saying "Wouldn't it be cool if there was more to this cosmos? And the secular public was avid for it, loved it intensely. Suspension of disbelief was easy for them.
George Lucas could be said to be aligned with Dr. Godwin in their apparent shared mission to show that crass materialism is not the truth.
"But of course it was only a movie," people say to themselves. Yes and no. It was fiction but people embraced the Force with their hearts and it has become enshrined as a unofficial American holiday, May the 4th.
Christians are a bit leery of giving the standard greeting "May the Force be With You." It sounds kind of pagan or "other." However, once it is pointed out to the Christian that they can think silently to themselves "May the Holy Spirit be With You" as the true meaning of the saying, and for the celebration of May 4th, they are fine with it. It can be seen as a de-facto celebration of Pentacost.
The materialist Gorgon still staggers around bleeding, losing believers and losing its grip on the secular public. The group mind, the Zeitgeist of our time, is ripe for a mass return to belief in the Creator.
Anthropos promises to deliver the coup-de-gras to the Gorgon, clearing the way. Trench awaits this section, indeed the whole of the book, with great anticipation.
