Live Reports From the Leading Edge of History

via Twitter.

This song was written in the wake of the Soviet clampdown on Czechoslovakia in 1968. Here comes the new old man, same as the old old man:

Instead of clicking on links I want to say that it's about time some of Iran's souls woke up in this century. In my blog from a couple of day ago I muse a bit on it. Here will say only, that just like the Berlin wall, all that is nuts will sooner or later crumble because once the 'Idea' is born it can't be pushed back.
The important thing right one is NOT to produce/release raging at the regime energy into the 'psychic ethers'.

From Flame Of Love A Theology Of The Holy Spirit, penned by Clack Pinnock quote from chapter on Spirit In Creation:

First he asks, "What are some useful applications of this doctrine of the Spirit? First, appreciatinng the Creators Spirit lets us see that God is involved in creation down to the last detail."

"God is present to us in the creation, and the world is a natural sacrament. We meet Spirit in moments of joy and sadness, hope and yearning, suffering and struggle. Spirit is at work in the world and not "an ornament of piety." Our experience has the potential to mediate his presents. Spirit is "the mobile, pure, people-loving Spirit who pervades every wretched corner, wailing at the waste, releasing power that enables fresh starts. Her energy quickens the earth to life, her beauty shines in the stars, her strenght breaks forth in every fragment of shalom and renewal that transpires in arenas of violence and meaningless." (quote from She Who Is , Johnson)

Hey, what happened to your Friday post? The one that has gotten all the hits....

Gagdad Bob said...

It was so popular, it blew up the network and disappeared into the ether, never to be seen again.

Gagdad Bob said...

BTW, all of the comment was lost as well.

I just read Friday's post on the RSS feed, but when I went to read the comments, it's gone. So you cant still read the post but not the comments.

Pure evil . . . because it is like fighting with a demented ghost with a gun who is programmed to shoot.

I still wish for both the leaders at Iran's helm rightnow to get a nice bullet . . .

Unspeakable as that was, some of the comments below the video approached it.

Memo to the rest of us: the modifier 'theo' is unnarcissisary. If we continue as we are here, the question won't remain an academic one.

Um, what? Did Obama shoot that girl? Or is he personally responsible for every evil that happens anywhere?

It seems to me that in the last election and more recently it was conservatives who wanted to bomb Iran, which would have resulted in many more instances of "pure evil" as above. McCain went so far as to sing songs about it. Now we are supposed to believe that conservatives are Iranian's best friends.

You're right. Obama couldn't have shot that girl. He was eating vanilla custard in a cup with hot fudge and toasted almonds when it happened.

I recall Bob write-say somt. like, "I don't care all that much for the Republicans, but I really hate the Democrats."

Now, I'm not an American and didn't vote for either party, still, I can't stand the fact that Obama not once said, "stop calling me the messiah. Stop painting a halo around my head. There is a King already and his name is Jesus Christ."

Not often I use the lingo, but seems appropriate: what a stupid fucking god damned moron. You have the moral vision and understanding of a flea. Wouldn't be so bad, if you were a flea, but since you can type I've got to assume you are a human being, but what a fucking disgraceful one you are.

I like the double possibility here, both work for me. BTW, I just got my NRA bumper sticker on my Prius. Sweet.

Dug the Brazilian link yesterday, Bob, although it proved a teaser since I returned later and poof, gone. Having spent my teen years in Rio circa '67 - '71, that stuff is in my soul.

Saw a good bumper sticker recently - "Very funny. Now bring out the real president."

Believe it or not, I can top Clodinpaltry's stunning moral equivocation with TWO pieces of insanity regarding the Iranian uprising from Facebook "friends":

1) An ex-girlfriend wondered why Americans didn't rise up like this after the "stolen" 2000 and 2004 elections, and concludes it's because we're too fat and stupid from eating cheeseburders and watching American Idol;

2) A self-appointed Gnostic spiritual leader asked where the American media was when cops were beating and teargassing protestors [read: a couple of anarchist provocateurs] at the Denver Demo convention last year.

Yes, these are actual people and actual postings.

Susannah said...

Okay, finished with comments. Now I want to read Friday's post. Bummer. The video is gut-wrenching. I commented there that the mullahs are a pure horror. Sickos. And no indeed, Obama *can't* summon up the moral courage to say their rule is illegitimate and despotic. The potty individual is as awash in moral equivocation as the President is; that's why he can't see straight.

Susannah said...

You do know you can hide the inanity on FB, right Aquila? ;) Seriously, some people are messed up in the head. Or more accurately, dead in spirit.

I don't get it: exactly what happened to Friday's post? "blew up the network" makes no sense & why are there no cached copy to be found? Don't cached copies have to be removed on porpoise?

Considering the title & theme of that post, multiple 'flag post' by sufferers of Progressive Personality Disorder could get it canned. It's a known Blogger bug/feature.

Am I being a retard cetacean here?

Gagdad Bob said...

It's right here. It seemed like a good idea to get rid of it because it generated no comments. I'm ruthlessly pruning things from the arkive, and have already deleted another 50 or so, working toward 300 at least.

ximeze said...

Well, at least I learned that I need to relearn how to find cached copies on the web.

I really have no idea what you people are talking about.

Mr. Gagdad posts a video of an injured or dying Iranian protester and says "my contempt for Obama continues to deepen." The implication is that Obama is somehow to blame for this, or has failed to respond to it appropriately, so much so that it is worthy of contempt. What exactly is he supposed to be doing? Any vociferous suppport for the protestors risks undermining them -- Americans are not exactly popular in Iran, and it would give the regime more justification to crack down on the protestors if they are linked to a foreign power. So a measured response is what any halfway sane person would do.

But you people have the worldview of a dim third grader. There are good guys and bad guys and Obama could make the good guys win with his magic wand if only he had moral clarity.

We have just gotten over the last eight years of being led by child-men and lunatics. Obama is far from perfect but at least he's not a fucking moron. That's good for us and good for the Iranians.

And for reference, here is what a real (sane) conservative looks like. I don't really know what you people are.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Godinpotty in that Bob's comment seems to be a non-sequiter. I've noticed that when Bob writes about Obama, a discrete or detailed causal link between negative statements and the President is always implied rather than stated.

There's a sense of "it's so obvious it doesn't have to be stated."

Uh, no. The actual complaint still needs to be stated. I can't tell half the time what the Bob's complaining about.

Where is the chain of cause and effect between the shot protestor and Obama?

Obama might be "bad" but how can we confirm that before he's actually done something that produces a bad outcome? What were the actions that produced deleterious results? I do not see any so far.

Cannot you base your writing on things that actually happen instead of nebulous worse case scenarios?

Bob,

I think the reason Friday's post generated no comments was that something was screwed up with Blogger even before the post dissappeared. I tried to post a comment fairly early that day and the page came back "Blogger is unavailable at this time"
I thought it was a good, instuctive post.

Well, I know what my body/soul has been/is going through because of the yearning of Soul's to live in dignity and it weeps and weeps the tears of those who are SOOO ANGRY (after the energy of rage 'funnels' through me.)

I heard that Ahmadinejad said that his messiah won't come untill the Jews are no more fini, and if Obama thinks he can talk sensibly with an individual with a mindset bent on murdering then good luck?

I tried several times this morning to access Ahmadinejad's blog but couldn't.
But I'm glad I saw in The Ottawa Citizen a piece on how a Canadian man and his team are helping protesting Iranians.

Rafal Rohozinski "and his team have been flooding Iran with secure network connections to servers located in other countries."

I hate it when that happens but I have a PS-clarifying note add on my above mentioned "weeping and weeping". . . Weeping without waking up that is.

After the 9/11 directly above me a female voice was sounding "aaaa.." the most huntingly beautiful melody, while a few feet away I heard my voice weeping. So it's not something new to me ...

This dawn,
She noticed on my 'marriage' finger assertive looking amethyst ring (my birthstone) and a necklace with tiny cross within a heart shape with a touch of ruby red. She drew me near, pierced her hand drawing a bit of blood saying my body has been "sanctified"

This is crazy, but there is another detail/bit to add which to me signifies "confirmation" of "not two". . .

She,(Soul) used a double needle-thing to pierce the skin drawing two drops of blood.
