Murmurandoms From the Back of Beyond

This may look like a random list of portentous utterances, but it actually possesses a "secret order" that will be known only to real initiates, the true Sons and Daughters of Toots.

Nah, not really. I'm just presenting things in the order they appear in this journal. As before, an asterisk means "probably stolen," or at least a lila playgiarized. I've also indicated where these are thoughts about other people's thoughts (mostly Schuon and Anonymous), so it is possible that I've incorporated some their words (I put their name at the end of any passages they inspired).

I gotta get out of here. I'm late already. Sorry for any incoherence.

Esoterism represents a kind of "pure understanding," similar to theoretical mathematics. The invisible object that corresponds to this understanding is the Real. Gnosis is essentially the result of submission to the eternal principles that in-form dogma. In the same way, dogma is a formal support for intellection, or a "window into heaven" which transmits the inward vision. (Schuon)

***

Science studies the world in order to understand it. Esoterism understands the world in order to study it. This understanding is anterior to the world, and corresponds to the realm of vertical recollection, which intellectually frees us from the tyranny of the horizontal.

Heaven has two soulstices or doors, a door of winter, when the sun "enters" our world at the darkest point, and a door of summer, when it begins to withdraw and the fullness of light departs from this world. (Thoughts on Schuon. Not entirely sure what it means, but it sounds good.)

***

The unKnown God exists at no particular place. He has a probability to be found at any place, but can "be" there only when encountered there. As long as he is not found, he ex-ists nowhere. God is co-created by dwelling in the means available to know him, just as one dwells in a work of art in order to comprehend its nonlocal message. (Thoughts on some of Polanyi's ideas transposed to theology.)

***

It is useless to seek to realize "I Am Brahma" without first realizing the extent to which one is no such thing -- or that "all is one" without first recognizing that all is multiplicity; or that "I am saved" without first appreciating the extent to which one is fallen. The sage sees things in their multiplicity and relativity while at the same time seeing through and beyond them in their metaphysical transparency. (Schuon)

Could the ubiquitous practice of human sacrifice be a garbled hint of the revelation that could only come in the fullness of time? History is the universal Bible of which the Bible is the condensed version. Our intuition of the Being Who Is evolves over time, based upon increased interiority on the vertical plane, at least for the collective. Creator --> Lawgiver --> Essence of Being.

Or, memories of paradise (i.e., vertical gnostalgia) --> Institution of formal worship to guard memories and prevent them from being forgotten --> Priesthood to keep them alive and develop them --> Schools of transcerebral experience, faith that there is a path of exit and that the endeavor to ascend is not in vain --> Spiritual preparation of the world and of a chosen people --> Incarnation itself, i.e., break-up of closed circle in the most dramatic intervention possible --> Establishment of a realm of liberty so that human beings may be freely lured into this vertical attractor at the end of history. (Anonymous)

There are many tracks but 1 way ÷ 3 = Purification + Illumination + Union = O. Without purification, a spiritual teacher is likely to be an illuminated scoundrel, while without illumination a philosopher will be an intelligent oddball. Death is the guardian between the three worlds. To put it another way, for Union to occur, some disassembly is required.

Partial list of postmodern words one may string together in any sentence in order to prove anything: contextualism, decentered, discourse, Eurocentric, feminisms, gaze, gendered, hegemonic, heteronormative, marginalized, post-colonial, queering, subaltern, transgendered, whiteness.

For example, yesterday Vanderleun posted a blatantly Eurocentric discourse about the great post-colonial writer of color, Alice Walker, in which his hegemonic gaze ironically converted his own heteronormative whiteness into a subaltern of Walker's three feminisms, thus marginalizing and queering all over himself. WTF!?

***

The purpose of obscenities is to allow us to identify those people who are too stupid to express themselves without them. 6.2% of Vanderleun excepted, of course. And 93% of Dupree.

The more unity a thing possesses, the more weight, depth, and participation in Being.

Completely OT, but Cuz might like to know his buddies are not letting the side down:

"Two men face attempted murder in motel manager stomping....
The two were part of a rowdy, drunken party.....
Either Mualevu or Tikoisuva smashed a beer bottle in the manager's face and then the two men proceeded to stomp him as he lay on the ground...."

Tongans?
Other reports just say
"Pacific Islanders"

Similar to Gurdjieff's:
"... the best educated scholar could prove an absolute ignoramus compared with an illiterate shepherd who possesses real knowledge. It is a question ... of the 'density of the thought'."

I know: trolls are dense also, but it's a "thicker" denseness, with an "unctuous feel" to it. (Don't tell me words don't matter!)

I’m not sure the “winter soulstice” door -- long dark night of the soultice, one might say -- has anything to do with the return of light. There is a door through the bottom of the grave, through the frozen, solidified darkness of hell, a door so narrow and constricted (strait) that nothing except the finest point of being can pass through. Everything else is stripped away. All the illusions about self are gone and only a sharp sense of otherness beyond loneliness passes to the light.

Of course, I know nothing about that door.

As long as he is not found, he ex-ists nowhere. God is co-created by dwelling in the means available to know him

That’s good. I know it could freak some people out but it’s good. Flint is a rock. Steel is a relatively inert metal. Where does the spark exist before they come together? Where is the flame in a stick of oak before it catches fire? I like it.

Could the ubiquitous practice of human sacrifice be a garbled hint of the revelation that could only come in the fullness of time?

No doubt. There is a built-in sense that we are “not right”, not what we should be, that we are missing something. This encompasses guilt but transcends it. Did you ever notice that life comes frighteningly close to meeting our expectations? Sometimes we call it synchronicity. When we lose that, we know it. We are literally out of sync. To realign ourselves, something must be done. It’s easy to see how a culture, rejecting some aspects of the vertical outpouring could achieve a barbaric “aha” and commence human sacrifice. We have a sort of spiritual instinct for what has to happen. When Abraham was called on to sacrifice Isaac, he seemed to have a sense “God will provide the lamb.” Without the direct contact Abraham had been given, it would be difficult to make the leap to the more enlightened understanding.

I can't tell you how much I like quoting people who are quoting me!

Circular seasoning.

The unobserved God does has not collapsed from the wave of probabilities into particles of Truth. Yet Truth exists everywhere and always, so God is observing everywhere and always.

That's exactly how I imagine death is too. It kind of explains many of the weird dreams that don't really seem to belong to me, but rather...uh...something like fragments floating around in subtle substance that never made it through that small door. If it's true that vital and astral substance shatter into pieces at death, sometimes leaving semi-entities in its wake, modern psychology's notion of intrapsychic disturbances would have to be expanded to include realms of our mind that aren't normally considered our mind--I mean, parts of our mind that are increasingly non-local. (but I guess that's the unconscious, uh) That's what I imagine recollections about, too--integrating, or even resurrecting all of the forsaken lives of the past, insignificant as they may have been. But I don't know much about that, I'm just speculating.

If I had to speculate what really caused this illnesses of mine (just rambling, sorry), I would say that it has something to do with that etheric looking corpse that I saw when I was younger hovering over me, face to face; plus all the dreams that seem to fit the same picture, and story. I'll never know, though.

As vacines are to public health, so is religion to political health.

So long as a majority of the population has the vacinations, epidemics don't arise despite the "free riders". But, if the fraction falls too low, look out!

So long as a majority of the population is religious, political epidemics such as Socialism/Marism/Leftism don't break out. Have we fallen below the critical fraction yet?

Skully still has Dupree beat, according to the cuss-o-meter.

Of course, he's willing ton have a friendly cussitition as long as there is grog at the event.

Good Gawd! does that nail it! No more anonymous than Truth itself.

Two lines that belong together.

Nice.
