Fundamentally there are only three miracles: existence, life, intelligence; with intelligence, the curve springing from God closes on itself like a ring that in reality has never been parted from the Infinite. --Schuon
The quest, thus, has no external 'object,' but is reality itself becoming luminous for its movement from the ineffable, through the Cosmos, to the ineffable. --Voegelin
A serious and good philosophical work could be written consisting entirely of jokes. --Wittgenstein

ReplyDeleteAny day you can make Ed Schultz cry is a good day.
ReplyDeletePretty good day... Dems take control of WI Senate and Obama crushes Romney in the exit polls 9 -12 points. Wasn't even close.

I know! And those same exit polls showed a close race between Walker and Barrett. I am so depressed.
ReplyDeleteBTW, post will be a little late. Had to drive the boy to school. Plus, I'm so despondent about Obama's success last night, that it's frankly a little difficult to get going....
ReplyDeleteSince the Wisconsin Senate will not be in session until after the November election when the GOP is projected to gain between two and five seats, what good does that do exactly?
ReplyDeleteAs I noted in a comment on AD, no union makes sense to me. If I don't like a job, I get a different one. Any skilled worker can do pretty much the same thing. In my lifetime, unions have been a means to protect the jobs of slackers and losers who don't really want to work in the first place. Public-sector unions only up the ante, garnering job security for the people doing unnecessary jobs, or, in the case of police and firemen, gaining unsustainable pension benefits which will bankrupt cities and states.
Welcome to the real world.
But there is sad news. Our Martian Chronicler has left us behind:
ReplyDeleteBut he said later in The Paris Review interview that he did not feel responsible for his own writing success, saying he felt that God helped him write. "The best description of my career as a writer is 'at play in the fields of the Lord.' It's been wonderful fun and I'll be damned where any of it came from. I've been fortunate. Very fortunate," he said.

ReplyDeleteYep! And getting willian to repeat mumbling points of last gasp desparation idiocies... a fine day indeed.
