More generally, could Absurdity be the ultimate ground and source of all this life, love, logoi, and laughter?

The other day, as I was picking up after the dog, I discovered a scarab beetle making use of the available resources. I find it to be yet more proof that god has quite a sense of humor: nature's janitor, cloaked in some of the most beautiful finery to be found in the animal kingdom, awkwardly trying to move a ball of poop around my backyard.

Rick, that part got me to thinking as well: what a mystery that anything so tiny and compartmentalized as a strand of DNA hiding within the core of a single cell could dictate anything outside of the scope of that single cell, much less something so significant as the color of the hair on a person's head! If the Darwinists are right, the genes know a lot more than they let on...juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15975754287030568726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8580258.post-19531784669375836712014-04-17T10:14:14.201-07:002014-04-17T10:14:14.201-07:00Marvelous post.

The "symbol", like mathematics, is what we bring to the mystery. The fact that the system is reliably predictable is beneficial to us; and "intelligibility" is meant to be communicated, no doubt.
But I think saying it is a code makes closed (in a way) what is an open system; and I think what we know so far about DNA is equivalent to merely touching "the hem of His garment".

I don't think they're selfish genes, but they're definitely up to something.Rickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13720790978632771716noreply@blogger.com
