But Schopenhauer agrees with Bob that music actually does represent something -- a little thing called reality. In semiotic terms, if music is the signifier, the world-process is its signified."

Indeed, how could one not agree that music represents reality?

What of people that do not like music? Do they even have a soul?

This brings to mind the savages like muslim fundamentalists that attempt to destroy music by first destroying musical instruments, and then destroying musicians.
It's no wonder they also outlaw music except for their own savage version which is only a dark reflection of music as such, since it only inspires murder and death.

Certainly all sane people can agree that they do not inspire light or life in any way whatsoever, for they do the same with all art forms and substances, be it humor, paintings, statues or whatever.

People who hate music hate beauty.
I suppose it's possible for some people to exist that are not violent but still hate music, but I would never trust anyone like that. How would that be prudent?
Where does the hate originate from?
Not from something good, that's for sure.

Only a multiculturalist cultist would think there is any value in a culture of death.USS Ben USN (Ret)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07492369604790651538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8580258.post-37975445662665927012015-01-22T14:25:59.803-08:002015-01-22T14:25:59.803-08:00Yeah... the French don't much like being assoc...Yeah... the French don't much like being associated with winners.Van Harveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08470413719262297062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8580258.post-856633754372379832015-01-22T14:23:30.749-08:002015-01-22T14:23:30.749-08:00To this day, the French despise that the English s...To this day, the French despise that the English still refer to them as the Normans from that battle. tedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07354048695798015131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8580258.post-62015187897621504722015-01-22T13:13:42.335-08:002015-01-22T13:13:42.335-08:00James Jamerson is without a doubt the most interes...James Jamerson is without a doubt the most interesting thing going on in classic Motown tracks. Oddly enough, part of it is a musical connection - a silly chant we had to listen to where some British guys droned,

"1066.
1066!
1066 at Hastings."

Then they went on to talk about William the Conqueror and the Domesday Book, etc.

Which goes to the post, I guess, inasmuch as music is intimately intwined with memory.
