He studied the Constitution the way a counterfeiter studies money".

Aye! the Fraudster In Chief. USS Ben USN (Ret)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07492369604790651538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8580258.post-82836325544307718802014-01-28T13:18:18.316-08:002014-01-28T13:18:18.316-08:00Ironic, isn't it, that it is the left that is ...Ironic, isn't it, that it is the left that is most shrill about the original sin of this corrupt world system? The problem isn't so much pointing out the corruption -- since it is ineveateapple -- but imagining that 1) we can eliminate it, and 2) that the best way to accomplish this is through an intrusive and coercive state, i.e., liberal tyranny."

That's an excellent insight. Explains why libs are such self-sanctified prudes.
USS Ben USN (Ret)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07492369604790651538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8580258.post-17930086813907235372014-01-28T09:44:06.105-08:002014-01-28T09:44:06.105-08:00Limited government offers few ways for resentment ...Limited government offers few ways for resentment and envy to be fungible to political power, since there is little surplus power to redistribute, only the powers specifically enumerated in the Constitution. And those are no fun for a political opportunist on a satanic mission.

Amen.

Lots of really good stuff in here today. How hard is it for people to see that corruption in a big, powerful government has a lot more potential for widespread disaster than corruption under a limited government? Also, if a corporation is corrupt, they might, what, waste your savings on hookers and coke? Sell you an inferior product at an inflated price? They aren't going to send out goons to shoot your dog, or arrest you for making videos.

You can sue a corrupt corporation. The courts have ruled time and again that the people have no standing to sue the government. A powerful enough government is accountable to no one -- well, only One.

We need to do away with the phrases "public servants" and "public service". Overseers might be a good substitute.mushroomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07651027035577798096noreply@blogger.com
