John Wayne with Lipstick: The Axe Wielding Natural

I guess I have nothing useful to say today, just a rambling tribute to The Speech. I'm afraid I am reduced to the status of any other bobbling commentator or common bobbletator.

Well, that was only the best political feeling since.... I don't know, I guess since 1980. No, not Ronald Reagan. That's when I saw Barry Commoner speak at UCLA. That's how much of a liberal I was back then. Even Jimmy Carter wasn't a big enough moonbat. I wanted to vote for an eco-warrior socialist professor.

I can't say that I was crying my eyelashes off during Palin's speech, like the softhearted Skully. It was more like fist pumps when your favorite team is torching the opponent, and maybe after the opponent and the media have been badmouthing your team for.... eight years. For those of you who are capable of introspection -- which excludes liberals -- this is what it feels like to have a "fantasy leader" articulate your deepest unconscious longings, and why the experience is so powerful.

There is literally a kind of psychic resonance that occurs, which is amplified by the ability of the fantasy leader to put your deepest concerns into words. To hear someone hammer away at these disgusting people feels very much the way it does in a movie, when the good guy is taking it to the villain. To hear someone finally go after the deeply corrupt MSM... oh my... it felt like a scene in The Sons of Katie Elder, when John Wayne swings an axe handle right into George Kennedy's teeth:

Admit it. Haven't you always wanted to see someone do that to a Kennedy?

And this is why the words of Obama do nothing for us. We can only try to imagine the sort of psyche in whom his hollow platitudes "ring true." It would have to be a "false person" on some level -- either spiritually false, emotionally false, or metaphysically and intellectually false. In Obama's case, he is all of those things. Deeply, deeply false, perhaps all the way to his empty core.

I guess it was the best political feeling since Kirk Gibson's home run in game one of the '88 series. Yeah, that's it. Everyone had such contempt for the Dodgers. The media thought they didn't belong in the Series, and could never compete against the vaunted A's. But with one epic swing, the whole thing was turned around. The A's were completely demoralized and never recovered.

That's what happened here. In my heart I knew it was going to happen, but I was hesitant to say so publicly. But now I'll say it: it's over. The way Palin grabbed Urkel by the scruff of the neck and shook the fairy dust off his bony ass.... marvelous. All he had going for him was star power, and now it's been eclipsed by her greater Light. Next to her, he looks like any other third rate political hack. Palin's the star. Obama's now just in a supporting role in her cosmic drama. She is the Candidate of Destiny. He is now the second youngest candidate with the oldest ideas. Truly a relic of the past.

Palin does so many things pitch-perfect, in a way that cannot be taught. Like Reagan, she really knows how to deliver a comedic line. That's just instinctive. The dramatic pause, the body language, playing against expectations, etc. Plus, she's more macho than Biden and more feminine than Obama. I'll tell you what: she has got to be the archetypal Raccoon Woman. She must frighten the hell out of the metrosexuals.

I'll be honest. I wasn't really fist-pumping during the speech. With her every barb, I made a kind of knife-thrusting motion, with a twisting gesture at the end. That's what I mean about the primitive feelings that are evoked in these matters. Nothing so satisfying as the Clean Kill.

And I love the way her husband handles things. You can look at him and see that he's not some milquetoast liberal, but a real man's man. A man who isn't secure in his person could feel a bit awkward in that role, but he looks so comfortable in his own skin, sort of simultaneously proud and bemused, just taking it all in. In contrast, Obama and Biden are so deeply phony that I doubt they even know what they really think anymore.

And as I was saying yesterday, I don't understand why conservative politicians don't just shove it back in the media's face. That's why I supported Rudy, because he really knows how to do that. So to see Palin put a shiv right into the brisket of the MSM.... it just doesn't get any better. If you don't think castration anxiety is real, just watch the reaction of the media elites as they instinctively cross their legs.

Naturally, I watched it on MSDNC in order to see what the reaction would be over there. The first thing out of Olbermann's piehole was that the speech was snide and sarcastic. Ho! Can he really be so mentally ill that he cannot see a projection so transparent? Yes. He is a sick man. Truly psychospiritually toxic. That liberals find his toxins nourishing tells you all you need to know about them.

Perhaps the worst thing about this for liberals is that Palin can cut right through the message discipline of the MSM and go straight to the people. Obama mostly appeals to the media elite and the professoriate, and all their phony condescending populism will be totally undercut by Palin's authentic American populism. Most Americans still want an American for president, not some UN loving, crypto-socialist world citizen who loses sleep over what a decadent and dying old Europe thinks about us.

As someone has already pointed out, this is not a clash of ideologies or parties, but even more fundamentally a clash of cultures and psychoclasses, and that is what generates all the heat. In a more barbaric country, this is what would be called an "ethnic war," and you know how those turn out. Thankfully this one is not violent, at least not yet. But the intrinsic violence of the left is always bubbling under the surface, and sometimes breaks out at the fringes. As Will was saying, I wouldn't be at all surprised if full-scale Rodney King style rioting breaks out in November.

It's so easy for liberals to chant the outrageous lie that "Bush lied, people died." But how many people have died as a result of liberal policies? The number is incalculable, partly because the effects are so distant from the causes. So no one ever talks about how much real death is caused by the liberal culture of death, but abortions are just the tip of the iceberg. I believe it is completely fair to say that leftist ideas and polices were overwhelmingly responsible for the disintegration of the black family, and all the consequent crime, poverty, early death, and general dysfunction that followed in its wake. And what's their prescription? More of the same.

For example, liberal politicians went about creating a quasi-permanent underclass in New Orleans -- helpless, dependent, looking to the government to bail them out. Then, when the inevitable disaster strikes, they blame Bush! It's incredible, really, but they have the full ideological support of the MSM, which goes about obscuring connections, i.e., "attacking the links" between deep causes and their distant effects.

Remember what I was saying yesterday about maintaining a link between the mansion above and the bat cave below? Liberals have no such link, which is why they are so much more violent than conservatives. Liberal academics and intellectuals -- who are not violent, but pacified wimps -- serve the purpose of giving intellectual justification to the impulses of the young and the underclass, so that they may live out their antisocial unconscious impulses by proxy.

And when I say "underclass," I am not speaking in economic terms, but in terms of psychoclass. In this regard, the two psychoclasses complete each other: the underclass acts out -- and pays for -- the dysfunctional and anti-human ideas hatched in faculty lounges all over the country. This is why intellectuals all over the world support cop-killers such as Mumia abu-Jamal or the barbaric Palestinians. It is why, as Palin said, they are much more concerned with reading terrorists their "Miranda rights" than in killing them. That's not sarcasm, that's the truth.

And the truth stings. Like an axe handle to the grill. Whap! Take that, Deepak, you windy Hindi!

It was a very good speech. Well done and nicely delivered. But as awesome as Gibson's homer vs the A's?

I have to disagree at no point during her speech did I find myself running around the house leaping spasmodically into the air. While my parents yelled at me to just "Calm Down". :)

And when little Piper Palin licked her hand and smoothed her baby brother's hair---that was an aahh moment. Too cute. But, isn't that empathy? And when I watched Senator McCain greet his wife, children and all the Palins at the airport---that made me weep. That is what love and compassion look like. Heh! I haven't gotten any further yet, but let me add this. I ran The Speech again when my wife and oldest son got home. My WIFE sat through the entire speech... you have to understand that she feels about politics as a werewolf does silver bullets... she sat through the entire speech, Whooping!, my Son, who only recently has developed an interest, was fist pumping and Yeah!'ing throughout.

If her history holds up to scrutiny (mine, not the MSM's... puh-leaze), we witnessed the beginning of something Big!

from the striped pants boys at Power Line:

UPDATE: RedState is reporting that the teleprompter broke half way through Palin's speech. This explains why, as I noted last night, she started deviating from the prepared text. She apparently delivered the remainder of the speech from memory. She also had the text of the speech on paper at the podium--a useful backup any time you're using a teleprompter!--and she might have consulted it a time or two during applause breaks, but she certainly didn't read from it. So what could have been a disaster instead appears to be more evidence of Palin's steady nerve.

Are you actually scrutinizing her? Or are you excusing her? I mean, you've got a woman plagued with corruption, republicans in her own state don't like her, McCain scolded her for her earmarks before he even knew her, and suddenly she's perfect when we finally need a candidate to counter "the One" in terms of how full of themselves they are. Palin is the conservative equivalent of BO, whoop whoop go americans now both teams have a star quarterback.

Anon, last time I checked, it is McCain vs. Obama, not Palin vs. Obama. Imagine the Zero in the #2 spot behind Hillary and you have something comparable.

As it is you have is a V-P candidate who is so vastly superior that the MSM is forced to compare her to the opposition's Presidential nominee in order to even stay in the game.

See Mark Steyn's briefly brilliant comment here. The gist of which is:

I would like to thank the US media for doing such a grand job this last week of lowering expectations by portraying Governor Palin - whoops, I mean Hick-Burg Mayor Palin - as a hillbilly know-nothing permapregnant ditz, half of whose 27 kids are the spawn of a stump-toothed uncle who hasn't worked since he was an extra in
Deliverance.

How's that narrative holding up, geniuses? Almost as good as your "devoted husband John Edwards" routine?

Don't be an idiot. You wouldn't compare her to Biden at all, and in fact, Biden was compared to McCain when he was picked as VP. Hmm, argument invalid. You compare similar things, Obama and Palin are similar, just because they aren't running for the same office.

One thing you can say about Obama is at least he had to earn his nomination, which is a far deal better than what Palin had to do, which says a lot about his capabilities, regardless of experience. Palin had to win over tens of thousands of people people for a governors position, Obama... tens of millions.

I'm glad you didn't compare The Speech with the night the Kings came back from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Red Wings 4-3 in the playoffs in game 4 of the 2000-1 first round series. That would have been going too far.

I love sports because I can feel beyond elated at a moment like that. But even better, when I'm feeling totally hopeless, like when the Kings fail to get a decent goalie for yet another year ensuring a mediocre season at best, I don't have to worry about actual death and destruction resulting. I can just get the Center Ice package on Direct TV and follow the Penguins one more year.

But if my political team loses, I can't just simply til next election, to paraphrase the old Dodger fan motto. Israel, NYC, Iraq and various former Soviet satellites might not make it til then.

I am sure you're right about Palin having the benefit of the force, not to take away anything from her earthly gifts. I'll be praying for her to keep fighting our adversaries on our behalf.

No problem -- Biden lied about his academic achievements repeatedly in addition to stealing the entire life of a British politician to pad his own non-accomplishments. Joe Biden has never had a real job in his life, never had to make a payroll, and never had to make an executive decision. As Mike Huckabee said last night, Palin got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla than Biden got running for President of the United States.

For instance the first so-called point of the article says that Palin changed her position, though what she says in the article is saying that Drilling in ANWR will not have no effect on our condition.

This is the quote:

I beg to disagree with any candidate who would say we can't drill our way out of our problem or that more supply won't ultimately affect prices. Of course it will affect prices. Energy being a global market, it's impossible to venture a guess on (specific) prices.

So does that mean she is saying that we CAN drill our way out of our problem or does it mean she is disagreeing with those who say those things (i.e. Obama)? Is your comprehension of our language so poor? Do you see the obvious implication, or is everything horizontal and literal, and all mentions of specific words and phrases all equal in emotional charge and direction to all other mentions of those phrases?

The article is bunk.

Apparently you are only trying to find flattering information on Palin or you'd already know all the problems, here you're trying to make them out as if it's wrong because of a grammatical error.

Maybe if you'd read your own comments aloud to yourself, slowly, and checked for actual meaning and coherence and courtesy (after all, he has no obligation to post any of your comments, if he doesn't feel like it) before hitting that button, Bob would leave them up for you.

But even then, you'd still have to demonstrate a basic capacity for mature thought.

Yes, Lance, I apologize. Huck was telling a joke. I should have made that clear. The basis of it was Biden's poor showing in Iowa and NH -- if he was still in after Iowa.

Wasilla has a population of 9200. Palin was elected mayor multiple times so her cumulative vote totals provided the fuel for Huck's witty remark.

For anyone interested, Patrick Casey on American Thinker gives a point by point refutation of the 51-point DailyKos attack on Palin.

Deeply, deeply false, perhaps all the way to his empty core. "

Precisely what I wonder when I watch the owowed gaping at him - there's no there there.

Yep!

"Most Americans still want an American for president, not some UN loving, crypto-socialist world citizen who loses sleep over what a decadent and dying old Europe thinks about us. "

I was starting to wonder, until these last few days.

What I wonder at most, and it contradicts my standing estimation of McCain, is that he saw this, or some aspect of this in her, and recognized the value of it. He also had to see that she would outshine him... and still selected her.

I've happily got to rethink my previous impressions of McCain.

>> . . . this is not a clash of ideologies or parties, but even more fundamentally a clash of cultures and psychoclasses, and that is what generates all the heat<<

Yes, and the psychoclass clash (psychoclash!) basically amounts to a war of consciousness(es) - one being dedicated to fostering individualism and ever-expanding self-awareness, the other dedicated to reversing the growth of self-awareness back into unconscious herd mentality. In short, one is spiritually progressive, the other spiritually regressive.

At first glance, some might think the regressive option would be a move toward "order" and "safety", the order and safety afforded by the State or a Sun-God-type, a back-to-the-womb measure. I don't think so. Ultimately, spiritual regression can't be anything other than a move toward *chaos*, from Divine Order back to the primordial fire from whence Divine Order - love, in other words - sprang. I think this is reason for Leftist violence, which is now getting closer to the surface.

Consider that the "ultimate order" of a big-government totalitarian or fascist state is actually an ultimate chaos at heart - there are no laws, no rules save for those the ruler or ruling elite concoct at their whim. Everyone in Stalin's Russia lived in constant fear and trembling, for at any moment, on any whim of his, they could end up dead or languishing in some icy gulag. Same in Hitler's Germany, Mao's China. For all the imposed order, this is actually the essence of chaos.

Will said "Consider that the "ultimate order" of a big-government totalitarian or fascist state is actually an ultimate chaos at heart - there are no laws,"

Yep, it is chaos, and there are not only no laws, there are no principles on which to base them on if they wanted to. Gutter-Pragmatism is their ultimate philosophy, that of "Forget about Principle, forget even about reality or what is really true (nothing is and we couldn’t know it if it were), just do what is effective, what works, forget trying to understand and doing what is right (! Deluded old Foggie!), just take Action!", it IS the philosophy of Might makes Right, and the more it is relied upon, the more totalitarian and fascistic they will be.

Now where have I heard me say that before... hmmm... oh yeah! Liberal Fascism: The Spiral of Knowledge and the Flattened Worldview of the Left pt. 3,

Pragmatism was the final philosophical cut that severed Reason from reality, and reduced all to assertions and struggles for power, and power alone, for the sake of power. Blow upon the skin of any leftist position, and you will find hidden beneath the cultivated layer of dust, no principle but bare assertion, no desire for Teaching, but only for indoctrinating. The Pragmatist is the most anti-human ‘thinker’ upon the world stage, he makes the savage seem civilized, it was the much praised pragmatism of the Progressives which gave us eugenics, sterilization policies, the destruction of property rights, the ‘third way’ fusion of Gov’t and Industry, the welfare state, and the destruction of our schools, the raising of the collective above the individual, and any whim and desire that is taken as a primary, a desire for “a living wage”, “leibensraum”, “healthcare”, none are seen to be subservient to any aspect of reality or dependent upon the exercise of others rights, none of that matters because WE WANT IT! That is justification enough in and of itself for taking Action to deliver it Now!, eventually spawning Fascism and then Nazism.

I know, shameless.

--Ignorance of world affairs -- a repudiation of the need to repair America's image abroad."

Well, isn't there a smidge of truth here? Is Palin a warmonger? If so, that could be a good thing. We do need to ramp up our smoldering conflicts into widespread total war (which we would win), because global hegemony would yield some real fruit; for instance, we would no longer have to contend with the policies of other nation states. And, any resources needed in our homeland could be diverted here without any delays.

Funny you mention it in terms of a knife...what Sarah did to our enemies (and the enemies of all mankind) during the speech, especially the last third, I turned to my wife and said; "I have never seen someone so deftly slip a dagger between the 3rd and 4th rib, leave it there for a while, all the time sweetly smiling, then come back to it and with a casual grip, twist and thrust again.

She even removed it from Obama for a few seconds and slipped it into Michelle with her comment about "Always being proud of America."

For the past several weeks I have been leading a prayer group with the instructions that the Democratic Party has come to a fullness of evil that it must be destroyed, for the sake of this nation, and for the sake of liberty in all the earth.

Last night's speech brought into focus that America is probably the first place on earth where God works the miraculous in the political realm. Our very founding was such a miracle of time, of men, of peculiar circumstances.

A President like Abraham Lincoln was another such political miracle...just read his second inaugural address inscribed on the walls of his memorial if you doubt that at times God speaks through men. And to see if you are human with a living heart, read those words...if you weep...you are human.

Reagan was another such political miracle. Prophesying the end of an evil empire when nobody believed it could happen, nobody could even hope for such an outcome. And some of those that heard him tried to silence him out of their own fear and cowardice.

And now I think we are witnessing another political miracle with Sarah Palin. This is going to be something to behold. The leadership of the Dem party, and the unholy union with the MSM with the Dem party was openly spanked last night before the whole world.

The first thing that will happen (other than the extreme hatred we will see toward Sarah) is deception will drop from the eyes of millions of women. This will grow in my opinion. When the Dem party is destroyed, like a covering blanket of deception, you will see the groups they have separated and bundled and then manipulated will begin to wake up, not all of them, but significant portions where the power of that evil idealogical empire will be broken forever.

Black Americans will be next, who are the idealogical slaves of white liberals and the same party that made them physical slaves hundreds of years ago.

Don't know how it will happen but I feel it is coming, as sure as the dawn.

Not enough time to wade through the comments just now, so I'll just share my thoughts after the post. (And I'll admit, it's a half hour past wine o'clock.)

The triumph of self-efficacy over depressive self-criticism was clear in this speech. That is, Obama and the left represent self-denigration, and they have found purchase in our (America's)deflated self-worth following Islamic attack, global scape-goating and the concerted efforts of the enemy within.

In this context, Sarah was like a breath of fresh, self-confident air, a reminder of who we are, have always been, and will be again.

Here is my problem. I read yesterday's post with great interest. I basked in the glow of the speech all day. And then I thought that the real movie analogy for this process may not be Batman but Alien.

I'm happy to be talked out of this suspicion, but it seems to me that we're not going to be able to sit back and let Governor Palin do it all for us. There are still trials ahead, and expect the monster to rear up again at the most unlikely moment.

Keep your powder dry, would be my advice, and keep pushing for the good, the true, and the beautiful. For some reason, these things seem to always involve blood, sweat, and tears.

My wife said one of the libs at her office “came to” today.
Our lib neighbor could only say, “you want 8 more years of…you want 8 more years of..of..of…” But that’s it. She said nothing to smear Palin. Which, if you knew my neighbor, is a huge improvement.

But my wife brought the subject up with them. I didn’t at my small office. It will be easier for them if I don’t. Easier for them to “come to.” This is the best chance they’ve gotten in a long time for it. I noticed they didn’t bring it up either.

Thanks, Julie.

I thought maybe the word ALL fell out of the quote from Palin last night…that went something like, “…drilling won’t solve ALL our energy problems…but we can’t just do nothing…”

Sort of like when McCain was misquoted when he said to the effect, “checking the air in your tires will help”. The part the MSM left off was, “but it won’t make a dent in our energy needs.”

I went to some blogs last night that featured Hillary voters and some independent women. Some were talking almost in terms of having had an epiphany. Many were extremely angry at the Dem party for all the years of promises, but in practice real misogyny. These women were almost violently angry. Nobody fights like an X true believer when they find they have been duped, especially duped for years. I think the Dems are going to be facing a Spartacus problem.

I said it this morning, it’s gonna backfire. The best they can “hope” for is to not give Palin any air-time – not even talk about her – and “hope” no one notices. I’m not saying it’s going to work…
But the more they talk the worse it gets.

I agree with you 100% about the demonic rot that has engulfed the Democrat party. It really is a time of ultra-sharp spiritual distinctions, and it does border on the miraculous that we now have a being to represent our culture. Once I can again detach from the immediate hysteria, I'll be getting more deeply into some of the cosmic evolutionary implications of all this.

One thing they must absolutely do is declare war on the MSM. I've been thinking about it, and one way would be to say, "let's just stop pretending that you're objective. There is a leftist media, and a conservative media. We will only interact with our media, and you can continue to interact with yours. However, if your candidates agree to appear on FSN, or Limbaugh, or Prager, or Hannity, then we will be happy to appear on Meet the Press or grant interviews to the New York Times."

It is why I think this is beyond human wisdom. We face the witchcraft of the Left. I know Raccoons may term it differently, such as projection etc. When I talk about witchcraft I am not talking about the depiction pop culture gives us, such as Bewitched or Charmed. Or even some evil coven drinking blood in some rituals.

I am talking about the real witchcraft that drives human societies. And that is the transference of sin from the wicked to the righteous. It is the sin of the Left via their world view to constantly push Utopian ideals that always kill maximum amounts of people, and the Utopia is never realized.

Case in point is their opposition to the Iraq war (Bush lied, people died chanting of the undead) So the only conclusion in a real world where only force and blood sets people free, is that the Left WANTS, even LUSTS for others to remain in terror, in bondage, in oppression, in hopelessness.

The witchcraft is to transfer this actual oppression to the only people, force, and nation that can set those people free. Thus BDS, is in a large part the manifestation of a darkness of soul and spirit that does not understand freedom, nor love freedom, nor have the faintest idea that freedom is the most expensive human nutrient on earth.

They abuse freedom as a license to party and stick drugs into themselves in order to maintain their zombie consciousnesses, and then hate those that would deliver freedom to those that have never been free.

These people, IMO are the living-dammed. The Dem party is a shrink-wrap for them. This witchcraft can only be broken by spoken truth. In fact the providence of prophets is primarily to eradicate witchcraft by breaking this power of the wicked to transfer their sin to the innocent, or the righteous.

True transference is only lawful before God for every man and woman to transfer their own individual sin to Christ alone. To transfer to other human beings is to spit at the provision of God, to actually rebel and try to create your own spiritual laws...the very sin of Satan and why he was driven from Heaven.

Bob, Absolutely correct on the need to declare war on the MSM. Today someone on Politico named Roger Simon (certainly not PJM's Roger Simon) took McCain to task because the media were practicing journalism on Palin. Even if they were (doubtful) what about some journalism on Obama and Biden. Why no big stories on Tony Reszko? Why no stories on Bill Ayers? What about Biden's corrupt influence peddling sons?

Your post the other day on liars fits the MSM to a T.

Agreed the MSM/DEM is a symbiotic unlife form. Usually these things are triads. So you have the MSM the Dem Party, and I am trying to think what the third leg of the stool is here. It will come to me, but other Raccoons will probably identify it before me.

I agree there is a lot of emotion right now because in a sense we have been living in a political darkness, Bush barely relieved the growing darkness, and except for 911 I don't think he really understood the depths or the history.

His actions during Katrina revealed a lot to me. I was screaming at him as that Hurricane struck New Orleans and he had those two days of seeming unconcern. He never realized the media was a crouching lion and had found the weakness to pounce and to eat him alive. An unawareness of the total enemy. Not just Islamo-fascists, but closer to home our liberal-fascists.

Sarah gets this, that is what we felt. She knows down in the gut who the enemy is and more than that she wants to fight them. McCain only partly gets it, more than Bush, but he still does not see the whole picture. Funny how Raccoons KNOW other raccoons on sight, at first word.

Taking on the media was something Nixon did in his first term. He and Agnew had an extremely antagonist relationship with the press. I am having trouble remembering the details of the Agnew scandal but I suspect he would not have had to resign if he had been a Democrat. Watergate is a whole other deal than it is usually presented. Nixon was guilty of the obstruction justice, but so was Clinton.

What is different now is the rise of Rush, talk radio and the Web. As Dan Rather found out, you can no longer effectively fake something like "losing" the Tet Offensive the way Uncle Walter did and expect it to go unchallenged.

Yes Academia! I was thinking Education, but it did not settle correctly. But Academia captures more than the act of education. It covers the whole philosophical system, and was the first thing the secular humanists hijacked. It is the first, and most important leg of the stool. We must pray for the youth to rebel against the leftist status quo.

You gno, I also found it refreshing and brilliant that Governor Palin wore a skirt for her acceptance speech!

Symbolic. She was sayin' that she didn't hafta be a man or a man-thing, like Hillary or Pelosi in order to be strong.

She was bein' honest, and sayin' "I know I'm a woman, and I'm comfortable bein' a woman."

That says to me that she's honest and isn't afraid of who and what she is. Honest feminism, not the perverted feminism of the Left that is neither a man nor a woman.

And as a result, she doesn't come across as a shrill, nagging hag.
She allows her inner, beautiful woman to show, without a hint of bitterness or feminazism.

She's the opposite of a biddy old henpecker, and yet she has more cajones than any democrat metrosexual!

No wonder her husband, a man's man, loves her so much!

And it feels so good to finally have someone who represents the Truth of who Americans - and yes, American women - really aspire to be. Somebody strong, with values that she actually lives (as opposed to merely paying lip-service to), who faces life head-on and can handle the good, bad and ugly with real grace. She doesn't take anybody's crap, yet she's still feminine. This is no Cindy Sheehan, no Shrillary, no shrieking man-hating harpy.

Whatever happens in the next few months, it's going to be anything but boring. Or hopeless.

I respectfully disagree. Why should Sarah or John go on MSBSDNC or the Communist Network?

The only people that watch those donk hacks is far left moonbats.
These tabloid gossip stations use the Daily Kos as a news source!
They always set traps for any conservatives that are naive enough to go into those dens of vipers.

I believe that most Americans wanna see more of Palin, and they'll watch Fox or listen to Rush if they have to, in order to see or hear her.

She might consider ABC or CBS, which at least aren't totally in the tank for the far left, or perhaps the Glenn Beck show.

She should avoid "The (skewered) Viewdoo" like the plague, 'cause they'll just screech over her everytime she tries to talk.

Palin is a star now, and she should only go on shows that have a semblance of objectivity, and if asked, she and all conservatives should state why.
That MSNBSDNC and their ilk are depraved and without any hint of decency, courtesy or objectivity.
They attacked her children for cryin' out loud! They spread made up lies from the Daily Kos, and they haven't vetted Obama in any way whatsoever.
No one has.

I say punish these small little asylums that pass themselves off as news stations.

They can have Pat Buchanan, because like Andrew Sullivan he has AIDS related dementia.
Conservatives would be wise to avoid Pat also.

My buddy & I are pretty sure we saw Major Dick Winters (of Band of Brothers fame) in one of the camera sweeps of the audience during McCain's speech, wearing the trademark bomber jacket, avec designating patches.

We watched on CSPAN (was it a single RNC feed or did each news outfit have their own?) & the camera was pausing on various Vets.

Holy Crap, think I, That's THE MAN in the flesh! In real time! Look over at my buddy & he's shot up, saying: wasn't that Winters? Don't think the camera operator has any clue whom he'd captured on tape, cause after that one clear shot, we only got to see partials of the jacket & not the person wearing it.

Anybody else see him? I'm gonna hunt-up the feed & watch it carefully for a screen-capture.

Here's rooting for McCain as POTUS, to finally, finally, put thru the upgrade to CMOH!

Do it as the first action of your administration, John. Hey, it's only been 64 years & some since DDay & Winters in only 90-something.

RE McCain last night, I thought he was at least fine by most normal people’s standards.

Loved the joke “I can’t wait to introduce her to Washington.”

But the best was how quiet it got in that enormous room when he spoke about being broken in that place, and then hurt and ashamed. Close ups of people listening with their hands to their lips. But that it was a gift. How his “brother” told him to stand up and fight. And then how he wasn’t in it for himself anymore:

“My country saved me. My country saved me, and I cannot forget it. And I will fight for her for as long as I draw breath, so help me God.”

It was a great ending.

And the “before” McCain sure reminds me of someone else:

“I thought I was tougher than anyone. I was pretty independent then, too. I liked to bend a few rules and pick a few fights for the fun of it. But I did it for my own pleasure, my own pride. I didn't think there was a cause that was more important than me.”

I think the “after” McCain is much better equipped than that other guy.

Wow, busy night. A bit rushed, no doubt, but Kepler caused this to pop out:

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;

Double, double toil and trouble,
Now we witches cast our spell...
Man will fall as up his doubts do bubble
Down, down into the wishing well

"cogito ergo sum -
there is no thing that you can not know,
You come first! you call the tune!"
Now mistake doubt for question and doubt it all!

"How can you believe what you can see
remember, remember keep always doubting...
How do you know the sun will rise,
The causes before your eyes are lies!

maybe yes, maybe no,
You can't be sure of what you know

Nothing can be proven true,
best bet on what others seem to do
If nothing truly can be true
Why not call true what we wish to do?

Reality can not be known,
Listen now to what weee know,
If you cannot know what is before your eyes,
how can you possibly say "I"?

No "I" within, no "I AM" without
Questions and answers dissolve in our brew of doubt

How can you believe what you cannot see?
no doubt the good, the beautiful and the true,
are but lies others tell to capture thee
Surely you are too too smart to be their fool!

there is nothing at all that you can know,
you cannot believe what you do not know,
The only thing you know is what you fear
Best hear only what you want to hear

Stand up and fight for what is right?
Ha, right can face up to doubt only within a fool,
and only fools seek to stay our might
Doubt not we'll call right whatever we wish to"

And now our conjuring is near complete
As Liberty and Property finally fall
Reasoning and Rights power to stay the night
Are fallen into the wishing well

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

A poet, dontcha know it? No? Maybe not, but the spell works - the proof is in the pudding all around you.
